| How We Met |
| Michael & Lynn officially met on March 31, 2007 in Charleston, S.C. when Michael ran in the Cooper River Bridge Run. The night before the race, Lynn housed and fed Michael & his roomate Jacob. After the race on Saturday, Michael & Lynn were able to get to know each other as Lynn showed everyone around downtown Charleston. At some point during the day, unknown to Lynn, Michael put his number in Lynn's phone (in case she would ever want to use it). To his great joy, she called him the following day. The following week the two of them talked numerous times on the phone, getting to know each other, and making connections about how their families and many of their friends knew each other. That next Friday, the Beahm family took a trip down to Pawley's Island (an hour outside Charleston), and Michael asked Lynn out to lunch. The following weekend, Lynn took a trip up to Boone and the two spent a lot of time together (even more thanks to a snow storm that allowed Lynn to stay an extra night in Boone), and that weekend the two expressed their feelings for one another. Througout the coming months, Michael and Lynn's love for each other began to truly grow, even though much of their relationship was spent apart from one another. The two were however able to spend the entire month of August together in Greensboro before Lynn moved to Charlotte and Michael started seminary in Boston. Soon after Michael started school in the fall, he told his family that he wanted to ask Lynn to be his wife and they were elated! After much planning and prayer that semester, he asked Lynn to marry him high a-top a mountain in Boone on January 11, 2008... and she said yes!
